Laelia anceps

These grow very well outside, especially in coastal areas. They prefer to be mounted or in baskets. In general, they tolerate temperatures down to about 32 deg. F. The exception is L. anceps var. guerrero, which does prefer to be protected from the winter chill, though it can also grow outside, particularly if it is acclimated gradually to lower temperatures.

The various color forms are listed in various references as varieties (var.), formas (f.) or both. Outside of nature, there is also some overlap due to line breeding.
