Colmanara Wildcat

These beautiful Oncidium-alliance intergeneric hybrids show the enormous variation that is possible in orchid breeding. The genus Colmanara consists of Odontoglossum x Oncidium x Miltonia. The grex Wildcat is Odontonia (Odtna.) Rustic Ridge x Odontocidium (Odcdm.) Crowborough. Many of these have received awards, and have been mericloned. This produces many plants that are identical to the original, making it possible for all of us to enjoy them. Here is a small sampling of the enormous variety of color and markings in the various clones of this fabulous hybrid.

These orchids live in my shady patio. They accept a wide range of temparature (winter chill does not seem to bother them). They do prefer hanging pots, which give them excellent air circulation.
